  • ARTIC AIR PURE CHILL- Pure Junk! I saw this in the store and took it home, no plans of purchasing previously. I opened it and saw this STOP warning which caused me to dial the number on the warning. It was wrong. Then I looked at reviews and was not impressed. However, I decided to give it a shot to see for myself so I froze the filter and the next day I tried it. I plugged it in and there was a shot of cold refreshing air that .lasted a few seconds and then it was nothing more than air from a fan. The unit is noisy, but the lights were nice. I would be lying if I said I like it and would recommend it. I plan to return it because a personal fan would do just as well, and even better because you don't have to freeze a filter or add water or ice. This is glorified JUNK. It is not worth the money.

  • Tagging the cords is pure genius! I live in Georgia where evaporator coolers would be no help. You have AC or you die. I had never even heard of evaporator coolers until we visited family in New Mexico one summer in the 80s. They called it a swamp cooler. I couldn't believe how comfortable it kept their house. I wish a swamp cooler would work in Georgia. I'm pretty sure my electric bill would go down. Where I live an evaporative cooler would be a wet wash cloth on the back of your neck.

  • Blowing on an ice cube is NOT air conditioning, why not just leave your freezer door open, that would be more effective. I DONT understand HHHHOOOWWWW anyone would believe this contraption actually works to cool the air. It should be marketed as a humidifier instead because that’s what it’s actually doing. WOW, can’t believe people are that stupid. 🤔🤦 there have been variations of this product around for YYYYEARS tho. It’s a take the money and run deal. It’s A quick little scam. I dooo like the fan that goes around the neck, I think it would actually even ward off mosquitos from buzzing around the ears, I WOULD buy that one. I did buy the first product in the 80’s and I now laugh when I still see it being marketed. All in all, very entertaining. I hope that these products are at least made of recycled material taken from the landfill itself.

  • The problem with using water and ice to cool the air is that it adds humidity to the atmosphere so if by chance it can't cool your room down could be we in trouble as it adds moisture in the air which can damage some electronic devices and things that need to be kept in a cool dry place.

My thinking is can I cool my place with the AC, then shut the AC off, run these little ice boxes and maintain that coolness for the remainder of the day 🤔 When you said location makes a difference it got me thinking about that… anything to reduce my energy bill 💪 Also Thanks For The Great Review!!

  • i do wish you'd include celcius for us who live in the developed world. but aside from that. talking about 90+ Fahrenheit as a casual spring day ? these are temps that have most countries in mild chaos, airing news about severe heatwaves and people literally dying, and forest fires erupting. you almost literally live in hell. for me anything over 20 celcius - 67 F is borderline unbearable.

  • This was an extremely long BUST on these products proving unless you live in a area with LOW humidity... you are seriously wasting your money. Unfortunately most people who buy them DON'T. Your own bodies cooling (sweating) is much more effective in dry areas to the point of drink enough fluids YOURSELF, you are good to go. Where most of us actually ARE suffering.... guess what we are dealing with? High temps and high humidity! So yeah... if you seriously need AC, DON'T go with a swamp cooler. Kind of surprised because Swamp Cooler is pretty much an oxymoron in itself. What does a swamp have lot's of? Moisture. What makes a swamp cooler effective? Putting moisture into the air to actually cool you off. In an environment already loaded with moisture, that's the LAST thing adding more to is going actually cool yourself with! Your hot enough and sweating enough, your ALREADY SOAKED! It's the ability of your sweat to evaporite off of you is what makes it effective. In a already damp hot area... adding MORE moisture is counterproductive as you are already having trouble sweating to cool yourself off. Why do fans work better? On the simple note it's moving enough air across you to at least bump up your sweat evaporating even in a humidly atmosphere is almost completely saturated with moisture. This IS simple science folks. These swamp cooler are ONLY effective when they get you slightly damp and the dry air allows the water to evaporate off of you, cooling you. But once it's muggy, your pretty much screwed. Humid enough, even fans are only blowing hot air with very little relief. These new AC's that runs pennies on the dollar? Don't be surprised you get overcharged on the claim. Yeah the run pennies on the dollar put are not nearly as effective as the standard AC unit. Expensive to run but they do things in two fold. First ACTUALLY cool the air the the secondary effect? Cool air can't hold as much moisture which is the WORST thing getting you overheated to begin with! So you actually get cooled down and then even your own bodies cooling system works even better in conjunction! It's that annoying humidity that really NAILS US GOOD! As far as the pretty lights my AC gives me? I don't give a hoot as long as it does what it IS designed for! Keeping me cool! Then 'new' gen of AC is nothing but a scam and worst, even the inventers KNOW IT but hope to make a quick buck as you learn the HARD WAY. Yes they are effective in low humidity areas but NOT where most people are going to buy them for. Stick to your traditional AC units, they are gonna cost 10 times as much and run up your electric bill but at least they do the job they ARE designed for no matter what the humidity is in your area.

  • the original 'A/C' was a water spray booth with fans throughout the building. It was used in sewing factories in the 1950's through the 1960's until the newer A/C units were employed. I'm a chemical engineer and demolition contractor for over 40 years and have scrapped several. This unit replicates old technology and doesn't try to provide current A/C.

  • I own the latest arctic air. The biggest downside is that it acts like an ice cube. Once it's done melting, you're done. Sure you can have multiple trays, but how many would you need? 15 of them? My freezer can barely fit 8. It's a total no go if the room you're in is over 90F. The only way I think this is doable, if you are really rich that is, get 8 of these machines and 120 trays blasting you in all sensitive directions. You'll need to change it every hour though. I was hoping the neck thing was going to be my latest purchase. Glad I same this video first. THANKS! ^_^

  • When they told you it was discontinued maybe they'd have sold it to a different company. I ordered two of what looks like the ultra model it's been rebadged in a box as a desktop AC Ultra I also ordered extra filters. I live in Michigan and I knowl it won't cool off a room obviously but it will keep you comfortable where you're sitting at and the nice thing about extra filters is you can soak them and freeze them and they're ready to swap out as needed

  • You can get the same cooling from hanging a bag ice in front of a fan. It's a tiny fan that tricks you into doing all the work (freezing the filter and ice in the water) under the guise that it's a technological advancement. Why do we allow this? Why isn't it criminal? When you soak an air filter with water and then freeze it it's no longer a filter.

  • H I , FREAKIN' REVIEWER ! Thanks for the review, and I have Q U E S T I O N S - How long to charge. Does it function while you're charging ? How often to charge ? How often to go through the processes of freezing the filter, dumping the residual water, and refilling with water, etc.? You've got to wake up every two hours to repeat the processes ? How about if you don't have a fridge ? Why not buy a $69-89 A/C on sale just before or just after summer ? Why not two $20 fans in lieu of this PITA device - one fan near you and the other near a window ! Anyway, regular electric fans work perfectly well when the temps outside are below 80 and the HUMIDITY below, say, 50% or so.... Thanks in advance for answering my QUESTIONS, as well as thanks for the review.... Oh, you are placing your hairless head between the machines, but of course you're going to be cool up there - but what about the rest of your body (just kidding, my friend!). Thanks, again. The QUESTIONS...answer when you can, please.

    J.L.J.L.پیش 28 روز
  • W O W ! ! ! What a real PITA to run these things ! For every hour, one must spend a whole day of effort and energy to operate these nasty white elephants of burdensome encumbrances ! Why not simply TWO 16-20" $15 fans, one a couple of feet from you and another near your window. And, of course, to turn your room into an A/C-like weather, how about filling up a tub with ice (from your fridge) and placing the tub behind your fan on a table (careful not to overfill the tub or cause any messy puddles). Definitely far more cooling than using these unworthy devices.
